Mara organizes chat into clip teams instead of letting spam bury the evidence. Lyra issues Theo's first safety str...
The blood mark appeared while Theo was looking at the wrong washer.
Chat found it three seconds late, circled in a dozen viewer clips: a brown smear hidden under a detergent sigil on the tile behind Juno's heel. By the time Mara shouted, "Left rear floor, not foam, blood," a drain imp had already climbed out of the rinse slot with a rusted safety pin between its teeth.
Theo kicked a laundry cart into its path. The imp punched through the wire basket and kept coming.
Juno backed into a dryer, still coughing. "That was covered before. I slipped there, but it was clean."
"Nothing here is clean," Theo said.
The Lint Chorus swarmed across the tile, drinking detergent from the sigil until the hidden stain showed in full: a handprint dragged toward the service door. Button snapped at the drain imp's safety pin, missed, and got flung into a puddle.
Mara's mod voice cut through the earpiece. "Chat is splitting. Half are calling it staged."
"Then stop letting them yell and make them useful."
"Already moving." Mara opened clip teams live, naming three viewer handles and assigning each a task: timestamp, lobby reflection, contract text. The chat slowed from riot to record. Clip bounties landed only on evidence that held the system panel in frame.
Lyra Sable's safety strike hit the stream as a red overlay.
STRIKE ONE: PROHIBITED INJURY MARKER DISPLAY.
The bitrate dropped. Theo's picture smeared at the edges. The drain imp used the blur, leaping for Juno's throat.
"Button," Theo rasped, "collar."
The wraith shot up from the puddle and fastened Juno's coverall collar to the dryer handle. The imp's pin scraped sparks past her neck instead of flesh. Juno choked, alive and furious.
"You tied me down?"
"I anchored you away from murder. Complain after breathing."
She bared her teeth. "Get the blood on camera."
That changed his angle. Theo dropped to one knee, phone low, so the stream caught the stain, the imp, the safety strike, and the contract panel still visible on his wrist. Cold ran from his fingers into his voice. Too many spirits, too fast, even if the Chorus was only a shivering carpet of lint.
Lyra spoke through the speaker again. "Candidate Vale, failure to comply with safety moderation may void extraction."
"Quote the rule," Theo said.
"The rule is visible in your agreement."
Mara answered before Theo could. "No, it is not. Viewers, contract team has the intake PDF. Search prohibited injury marker."
The chat went quiet enough that the room's dripping pipes sounded loud. Then one pinned message appeared from FoamLaw: NO MATCH.
Theo smiled into the blur. "Lyra, my zero-star audience can use find-in-page."
The drain imp lunged again. Juno grabbed the laundry cart's broken handle and smashed it down on the creature's pin hand. The Lint Chorus flooded the joint, clogging it with gray knots. Theo dragged the phone closer to the blood mark while Button held Juno's collar like a stubborn little seat belt.
SYSTEM NOTE: HIDDEN HAZARD MARKER REVEALED.
The fake cleanse objective flickered. Under it, a service-door route appeared for one heartbeat, then vanished.
"I saw a door," Juno said. "My group never got that."
"Your group?" Theo kept the camera on her face.
She looked at the stain, not at him. "My sister went through Eastgate last month. They sent us a replay of her walking out."
Mara inhaled sharply. "Theo, the strike log just updated. It cites Safety Rule Nine-C."
"And?"
"Your contract jumps from Nine-B to Ten."
The red overlay tried to fade. Mara clipped it before it could vanish. The audience count climbed as outside viewers followed the bounty tags, not because anyone had shouted, but because the missing rule sat beside a living rookie and a blood mark the official room had hidden.
The service door clicked unlocked.
From beyond it came the clack of turnstiles counting money.
